FIRE ALARMS AT LAUREL MANOR
The new Fire Alarm Call Points are situated in all lobbies and at each main exit. Alarm sounders are triggered either by smoke or by pressing one of the Alarm call buttons.
If an alarm has been triggered manually it will continue sounding until the HUSH and LOCATE buttons are pressed on the REMOTE CONTROL PANEL located in the ground floor vestibule or the Call Point has been re-set by using the key next to the REMOTE CONTROL panel.
In the event of a known false alarm by smoke the sounders are best silenced by clean air around the detector in the ceiling, this can be achieved by waving a newspaper close to it.
When an alarm point is triggered a striped section will appear (as shown).
The REMOTE CONTROL panel is situated in each of the ground floor vestibules at door frame height.
Pressing HUSH will silence the alarm for about five minutes and LOCATE will fully silence the alarm and indicate which Call Point has been pressed.
Testing will be carried out randomly between noon and 1pm, weekdays only.
Please report any failures or misuse to your committee via 32a.
To reset an Alarm Call Point remove the key situated next to the REMOTE CONTROL panel.
Insert the key into the hole in the base of the Call Point towards the left of the unit and turn clockwise.
When successfully reset the striped panel will change to white.
Remember to replace the reset key.
